In a strange and of its kind incident, Afghanistan fans were seen disrupting chairs from their positions and randomly throwing them at Pakistan fans and some hitting their backs.
Cricket matches are often depicted as ‘edge of the seat’ thrillers as they go down to the last over, with both teams having equal chances of winning. But that’s only because fans reach to the edge of their seats in a tense situation, not to hit opposition fans from the edge of their seats.
The incident happened after Pakistan defeated Afghanistan in a Super 4 match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Shoaib Akhtar condemned the actions of Afghan fans and tweeted, “This is what Afghan fans are doing. He has done this many times in the past. It is a game and should be played and taken in the right spirit. @Shafiqstan If you guys want to get ahead in the game then both your crowd and your players need to learn a few things.

Afghanistan was brilliant on the field and almost brought Pakistan to its knees after being dismissed for nine wickets. Pakistan needed 11 runs in the last over and had only one wicket in their hands. Afghanistan was the clear favorite.
Naseem Shah, however, struck two blows to destroy Afghanistan’s dreams and also ended their campaign in the ongoing Asia Cup.
The video shows fans breaking a stand and randomly throwing bases at Pakistan fans. Pakistani fans tried to escape quickly for their own safety.
There has been no official statement issued by the cricket board or Sharjah Cricket Stadium officials following the incidents.
