Flooding in many Parts Of Nelson County – Nelson Public Schools Closed Monday

Refreshed : 7:05 PM Nelson County has shut state funded schools for Monday – August 22, 2022 because of overflowed and cleaned out streets.
In around two hours more 4 and 1/2″ of downpour fell in parts of Nelson County late Sunday morning into the early evening. The downpours were weighty to such an extent that numerous streets have been shut down, especially in Eastern Nelson County. Meadow Road has imploded around 1/4 to 1/2 mile north of the James River Road crossing point. A truck fell into the imploded region, however the inhabitants got out alright.
Front Street in Lovingston has been transiently been shut because of flooding. Factory Pond Road was shut down, as well as reports of various trees down and flooding along Rockfish River Road in East Nelson.




Numerous CREEKS and streams have left their banks in various areas across Nelson County.
